Alvarado, Carlos S.

1955 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, geboren, studierte Psychologie, Parapsychologie und Geschichte, promovierte an der Universität von Edinburgh in Psychologie und widmete sich intensiv der parapsychologischen Forschung; in Europa und Lateinamerika bekannt geworden durch seine Veröffentlichungen in Englisch und Spanisch vor allem in Spezialzeitschriften, darunter Dissociation, > Journal of Parapsychology und > European Journal of Parapsychology. Seine Arbeiten konzentrieren sich vornehmlich auf die Geschichte der Parapsychologie und die psychologischen Variablen psychischer Phänomene. Mehr als 10 Jahre lang betätigte er sich aktiv in der > Parapsychological Association und wurde 1995 als erster Lateinamerikaner Präsident der Gesellschaft. 2002 – 2003 hatte er dieses Amt ein zweites Mal inne. Zur Zeit ist A. Assistant Professor für psychiatrisch-medizinische Forschung an der Abteilung für Persönlichkeitsstudien der Universität von Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, wo er gemeinsam mit Nancy L.
